Privacy without surprises.
Unhabit is built to keep sensitive habit information under your control. This policy explains what the app stores and how optional iCloud sync works.
The short version
Habit data is stored on your device and, when available, in your private iCloud database. We do not operate an app server that receives a copy of your habit history.
Information handled by the app
To provide its features, Unhabit stores:
- Habit names, selected icons, colors, order, and archive status
- Relapse dates, counts, and notes you choose to enter
- Clean-day calculations, progress, and unlocked medals
- App preferences such as language, appearance, and notification settings
Unhabit does not require an account and does not intentionally collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, photos, or health data.
Private iCloud synchronization
Unhabit uses Apple SwiftData and CloudKit to synchronize app data when iCloud is available. Synced information is stored in the private database associated with your Apple Account. Apple controls CloudKit infrastructure and synchronization timing under its own terms and privacy policy.
If iCloud is unavailable, the app can fall back to local storage. You can check availability from Unhabit Settings.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, Unhabit schedules notifications for reflection, streak warnings, or milestones. Notification preferences are stored with your app settings. You can disable them in Unhabit or revoke permission in iOS Settings.
Sharing and third parties
We do not sell your data, show targeted advertising, or share habit history with advertisers or data brokers.
Apple provides App Store purchase processing, iCloud/CloudKit, notification delivery, and operating-system services. Their handling of related information is governed by Apple’s policies.
Your choices
- Edit or delete individual habits and records in the app.
- Use the delete-all-data option in Settings.
- Disable notifications in the app or iOS Settings.
- Disable iCloud access through Apple settings.
- Delete the app to remove its local data. Data already synchronized to iCloud may remain subject to Apple’s retention and synchronization behavior.
Children
Unhabit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page when the app or legal requirements change. The latest revision date appears at the top.
